Chapter 1:Backward Design

The first thing that called my attention about this first chapter was something releated with an article that I read. It was about TPACK and the role of the teacher as a designer (http://bblanube.blogspot.com). I totally agree with the fact that teaching must be something that mix a lot of things. One important point is that we have to be creative to design a curriculum that fits with the necessities. Other important aspect that called my atention in this chapter was the view that most of the teachers have. When teachers teach some grammatical things, for example, they only care about students memorize it, but the important point that they must be able to take these grammatical content and use them in a different context. They must learn to apply those contents. And as a last point is the importance that textbooks have inside a classroom and how much they affect to create a curriculum. Teachers rely on the fact that textbook provide almost "all" the information needed to make a class and their activities and that of course is a bad practice. Cata Soriano.
